I am many things. Human is not one of them. Or at least, I don't feel like I am human, I feel like my human body is more a vessel to carry something beyond human rather than the "real me".
I do not believe I am literally nonhuman in a physical sense, but I feel spiritually connected to being inhuman and I find comfort in the line between human and not human being blurred or erased. As for shifts, mine are pretty subtle mental ones, it's more I just suddenly feel extra wolfy, for example, and this often ties into special interests or hyperfixations. For example, at the time of writing, I'm feeling very shifted into VAMPIRE MODE becaue I'm working on VtMB-related stuff whilst also reading Interview With A Vampire by Anne Rice.
I also consider it apart of my gender identity, for I feel more like a creature mimicking a man, woman or a mix. Like a kitsune turning into a beautiful woman. Or a man turning into a werewolf under a full moon. And obviously, it's tied to my autism and ADHD, since my mind isn't the "normal human mind". I know neurodivergent people can be human and should be regarded as such if they are NOT alterhuman, but I am not human. Still a person, though!

★ Cat ★
Cat, I'm a kitty cat! And I dance dance dance and I dance dance dance! I mean, it's the default species my fursona appears as! I am a black kitty, darker than the night I prowl in!
I've owned cats my whole life and I have always felt a strong kinship with these silly puffballs. They're so sassy and lively, little tigers living in our homes like they're one of us.
★ Dog ★
Woof! Just a fluffy little Spitz breed guy who looks like a cross between a Pomeranian and a husky, with a Chow Chow blue tongue.
Up until fairly recently, I used to own dogs and they were the silliest, goofiest boys. To me, dogs are the epitome of the loyal nature of the wolf tamed into a kind angel of sorts for man. They can be used for good and for evil. They can be big, ferocious beasts, or just tiny little yippie things you carry in a purse. But they're all good boys and good girls, no matter what.
★ Wolf ★
I'm not always domesticated, though. I can also be a ferocious black wolf, hunting under a full moon and running free with the wind. As a wolf, I do not believe in your frivolous human ideals of alpha and beta, but I am absolutely an alpha in the parental sense to my familiars (fat spoiled house cats).
Wolves are a longstanding interest that started with my interest in dogs, and they've always felt...Mystical. Yet scary. They are what dogs are naturally, the beast we tamed and often still have strange feelings around as they remain in our dog-centered world. They're also big fluffy boys who passed down a lot of their silliness down to dogs.

★ Vampire ★
Hey, I said creature of the night! I am like really bad Anne Rice fanfiction vampire, fanfiction so bad Anne Rice rises from the grave to sue me, but with a touch of Draculaura from Monster High. Now, my human body protects me from vampire weaknesses, and also I'm faekin so I can enjoy any time of day, but I love being out at night!! I love the night, it's so pretty!
Don't worry, I'm not a vicious maneater, as I am a vegetarian vampire who will settle for red drinks (and rare steak)! Maybe one day I will try those pork blood recipes, though...
★ Werewolf ★
AWOOOOOOOO! In addition to a regular wolf, I'm a WEREWOLF! Specifically, a gloomdog take on the Garou from WTA! Or maybe just those drawings of werewolves looking in the mirror or riding a motorcycle. Anyways! I imagine I am not an involuntary shapeshifter and actively choose the big fluffy boy form, allowed to do both wolf AND person things!
I do pay attention to moon phases, though I haven't mustered the courage to howl at it out loud, only in my soul. The moon is AWESOME!
★ Angel ★
Something about me cannot be fully comprehended even when I am at my kindest and sweetest. If anything, I have had so many moments where I'd be kind and openly caring, only to be seen as naive, strange, or even malicious. I am not an angel in terms of behavior, but more the ethereal glory of the powers that be, which in practice means cute pretty angel who can also be biblically accurate sometimes.
★ Demon ★
I don't think I'm quite fullblooded a hellhound, but I know I am also unholy beneath my skin, I am the infernal. Get too close, and you realize something is wrong with me even beyond my autism, because I am a crazy spicy girl! I feel like the ephemeral, eldritch take on demons, but the little red guys are fun, as are hellhounds! How am I both an angel AND a demon? Idk. Fallen angel? Or maybe it's like, two modes I go into. Idk!
★ Fae ★
I cannot be fully perceived, so the fae I must be. Like, somewhere between whimsical cute fairy, fantasy elf, and the fair folk who cast curses on you because you didn't return that book you borrowed from them in time. If only the incomprehensible beauty and wonder in my soul could be reflected in my human form! This human body's ugly as FUCK lol! I like to sit in the grass, bask in the sun and eat strawberries and carrots while I may or may not be an abomination.
★ Ghoul ★
By "ghoul", I mean a more general ghostly, uncanny, terrifying thing that looks like a human but is not and should never be interacted with. The uncanny valley itself, something that should NOT exist but yanno, I'm glad I do! I get to haunt the living!
★ Zombie ★
In your heaaaaaad! In your heaaaaaaaad! Zombie! Zombie! No, really, I may primarily be a vampire but I also feel I am a zombie; more specifically those fast zombies who are crazy and rotting and being fast despite rotting and also I am just a rotten MESS! I AM CRAZY! I am still sapient, obviously, but I could go for some FLESH! (animal flesh will do, including cooked flesh, for I do not want to kill my human vessel).

★ Eeveelutions ★
Specifically Eevee, Espeon and Umbreon, but they are all my brethren. As an Eevee, I have infinite potential while also being a furry little guy with a big bushy tail. I am just so silly, I want to run on all fours and eat whatever tf them Pokepuffs are!
As an Espeon, I SENSE SOMETHING BEYOND WHAT YOU SEE...And I sense that I am a purple kitty. :3
As an Umbreon, me angy, me angsty, me goth dog. :3
★ Pikachu ★
Basic bitch choice, yes, but I'm just a fat fuck with chubby cheeks who wants to be carried on your shoulder and charge my Switch with my tail! Although, unlike Ash's Pikachu, I'm less a ketchup guy and more a barbecue sauce fiend.

As a whole, I feel strong kinship with the likes of like, every other Sanrio design. Look, I know half of this page is saying I AM A WILD ANIMAL, I DRINK BLOOD but sometimes I am just a little baby who is too soft and too sweet, and should be living in happy fantasy world rather than living through the Trump Trainwreck. Why can't I hang out with Hello Kitty instead? Why do I have to work a JOB? Ugh! Let me be three apples tall and live off of cake!
